Ivor Chuter lives on the edge of the Sussex Downs with his wife and baby daughter.  He became a full-time professional photographer in 2007.   He is a Licentiate of both the Royal Photographic Society (LRPS) and of the British Professional Photographers Associates (LBPPA).

Ivor's work is the culmination of an entire lifetime's overwhelming passion for and knowledge of Britain's wildlife.

As a trained artist, he studied photography intensively in tandem with his hugely successful artistic education in Carmarthenshire, Wales that led to an HND in Wildlife Art the only course of its kind at the time.  Ivor extensively used traditional wet process photography and processing over 20 years ago, which trained his eye to the awareness of the rectangle and the necessity to get the correct exposure.

Ivor also studied Countryside Management and became a founder director of a countryside management and advisory company, Countryside Matters Limited.

Not only is his photography highly sought after both commercially and privately, so too is his artwork and Ivor has carried out commissions for all subjects in his unique style.

Ivor's photography also has a distinctive style and he has several significant clients, including:

Sussex Wildlife Trust

Reserves Guide 2007, Malling Down Reserve Guide, Walks Guide, Annual Brochure, Sheep Appeal and various publications in Sussex Life on behalf of SWT.

Eastbourne School of English

Internet advertising photography, events photography, host family photography.  Ivor also teaches photography at Eastbourne School of English.

Previous clients have included:

The Sussex Downs Conservation Board

Landscape photography monitoring and filming location photography.  Website image.

The National Trust

Filming location photography.

Not only does Ivor excel at landscape and wildlife photography, he has also covered several weddings (including his own!) and does pet and family portraits.

Ivor's work is unique among wildlife photographers as his work is carried out at exceptionally close quarters to guarantee detail and quality.  This is not normally possible as all other wildlife photographers shoot at far greater focal lengths and enhance and blow up their images.

Ivor's work is only rarely cropped and comprises 99% full-frame pictures.  Ivor's work is not 'set up' but led by his own experience and intuition.  He is not a collector but simply has an appreciation of all things wild.  Ivor's exceptional talent is reflected in his genuine work.  He says, "I like the feeling of being in my subjects' space and their acceptance of me."

As a trained wildlife artist, Ivor has spent many, many thousands of hours observing his subjects in extreme detail, drawing his observations in the field, so a natural progression to wildlife photography was inevitable.

Ivor's photographic work is available for sale as prints or panels and he is also available for commissioned work.

Ivor will also be attaching pages dealing with his wildlife and landscape paintings, which will be available as prints.  In both cases, the service can include framing or production of panels to the customer's requirement.
